Fa Mengkarak Hussain (previous name : Joy Muhammad Arrow) has been an activist for LGBTQIA, Muslim and ESEA causes for over 30 years. She has acted for Malaysian National Theatre and independent British and Malaysian productions. Her activism has transpired to providing consultation for Channel 5, BBC and numerous advocacies and to her written works which have been featured in LGBTQIA news outlets and BESEA theatre. She is the writer of the UK's first BESEA compendium of horror stories about the working class diaspora and is currently working on a compilation of British Malay stories. She also runs a Doctor Who review and fanpage, The Hijabi Whovian, which focuses on ESEA characters within the world of Who.
